Another Day at Aspres

We're heading up to the Aspres launch again today. Weather reports say
thunderstorms could come earlier today...we'll see.

Interesting discussions last night about the GAP parameters. The
nominal distance is set at 60km which many say are quite low for a
Category 1 event. They were the same last year for the pre-worlds, so
I suppose someone could have noticed and suggested they be raised a
bit...but no one did. They cannot be changed once the meet has
started. Would the low nominal distance being so low explain why a
stopped task scored 1000 points when none of the previous tasks have?
I don't know the answer.

Big fall for Christian Ciech who, for whatever reason chose to take
one of the later starts. Because pilots get the distance they made 20
minutes before the task was stopped, those that take later starts
really lose out when the task is stopped. Yesterday's scores moved
Christian from first down to fifth place.
